The Empty Throne

The monarch is dead, the crown is unclaimed, and a sealed abdication letter -- real or rumored, no one yet agrees which -- could overturn a succession everyone assumed was already settled. The court is dividing between Prince Rowan Vale and Prince Elian while the officials, bound by oath rather than blood, must decide what law, loyalty, and public order actually require when tradition and evidence point in different directions.
